Growing Conditions

Vineyards: Thunderstone, Scarline

Nose

Plums, orange peel, pencil shavings, cardamom, and red licorice. The wine opens to dark cherry, blackberry jam, menthol, and hints of oak spice and macerated herbs.

Palate

The mouthfeel here is fleshy and extremely round, with lots of ripe red and black fruits and a spicy aftertaste. The texture is remarkably soft, with powdery tannins and fantastic volume, but without losing any tension or length. Rich, but also bright, long, and savory, this beautiful Mourvèdre can be enjoyed now or in the next 15 years.

Aging

Barrel and stainless steel fermented. Aged in new and neutral French oak puncheons for 18 months.
