Growing Conditions

Vineyard: Corfu Crossing, Solaksen

Nose

Dark cherry, blueberry cobbler, tobacco leaf, leather, and earthy tones. Swirling brings dark plums, red licorice, and hints of sage.

Palate

The mouthfeel is broad and luxurious, with tons of dark red and black fruits, tangerine peel, and rooibos tea. The mid-palate has remarkable tension and sweetness, and the acid presentation here is outstanding for a hot vintage wine. The tannins are soft, and the wine flows smoothly with a silky texture and great volume. The wine finishes extremely long, with a touch of baking spices and dried herbs. Amazing now, drink in the next 20 years. Decanting recommended.

Aging

Stainless steel fermented. Aged in new and neutral French oak puncheons for 20 months.
